Reid and Lurette Recalled

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs have recalled forward Ben Reid and defenceman Pierre-Luc Lurette.

The Sea Dogs selected the 5'10", 173-lb. Quispamsis-native Reid in the seventh round (119th overall) of the 2015 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

He had 13 goals and 29 points in 35 games last season with the Saint John Vito's of the NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League (NBPEIMMHL). He posted one assist and four penalty minutes in two preseason games with Saint John.

Lurette, 17, was chosen in the sixth round (100th overall) in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.

The native of Val-d'Amour, New Brunswick, registered four goals and 13 points in 43 games last season with the Campbellton Tigers of the Maritime Hockey League (MHL). He had two shots on goal in one preseason game for the Sea Dogs.

With several Saint John skaters away at NHL training camps, Reid and Lurette are expected to be available to play when the Sea Dogs open the regular season on Saturday, September 12th, at 7 p.m.against the Halifax Mooseheads at Harbour Station.
